IBM workers strike in Second Life
MILAN Rsu National Coordination of IBM's organized the first trade union demonstration today of virtual protest, complete with a service order to ward off the provocative, Second Life, to support the workers' dispute on the agreement on the "performance bonus". The strike, launched from the site of the RSU at IBM in Vimercate, has the support of trade unions belonging to the Union Network International, which brings together many organizations national. The 12 hour virtual protest and organizers expect an attendance between 800 and 1000 people from over 18 different countries, in solidarity with Italian IBM workers. "This is the first trade union protest ever staged in the virtual world," said general secretary Philip Jennings of UNI Global Union speaking in New York.
